Sausage, Egg, and Cream Cheese Hashbrown Casserole

Instructions:

Preheat oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon. If using, add the diced onion and cook until softened. Drain any excess grease.

Mix eggs & dairy: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Combine casserole ingredients: In a large bowl or baking dish, mix the cooked sausage with the hashbrowns. Add the softened cream cheese and about 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir in the egg mixture and combine until everything is evenly coated.

Assemble: Pour everything into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly.

Top with cheese: Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden and bubbly.

Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.
