🌱 Grow Sweet Potatoes for Free – Secret Tips Few People Know!
Looking for a way to grow sweet potatoes at home without spending a single penny? These unbelievably simple tricks are super effective – and most people have no idea they exist!
🥔 1. Use an Old Sweet Potato (Even If It’s Going Bad!)
No need to buy seeds or fancy starter kits. If you’ve got a sweet potato that’s starting to sprout or looks like it’s going bad – don’t throw it away! That’s your golden start.
💧 2. Put Half of It in Water – That’s All!
Cut the sweet potato in half (or into 3–4 pieces if it’s large). Place the cut end into a glass of water so only the bottom touches the water.
Use toothpicks or skewers to hold the potato on top of the glass rim so it doesn’t sink in.
📆 Change the water every 1–2 days. In just 5–10 days, you’ll start to see roots growing from the bottom, and leaves (called slips) coming out from the top.
🌿 3. Snip the Slips – and Plant Them!
Once the leaves and roots start growing, carefully snip off the slips (the leafy shoots).
Plant these slips into any soil – in pots, buckets, grow bags, or even plastic containers. Make sure the roots are under the soil and the leaves stay above.
🌞 4. Sunlight, Water, and Patience
Sweet potatoes love sunshine and warm weather. Don’t overwater them – once or twice a week is enough depending on your climate.
