🧅 1 onion, thinly sliced
🧄 2 garlic cloves, minced
🥛 200 ml (¾ cup) heavy cream or crème fraîche
🧀 100 g (1 cup) grated cheese (emmental, parmesan, or cheddar)
🥄 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard (optional, for extra depth)
🫒 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
🧂 Salt & pepper to taste
🌿 Fresh parsley or chives for garnish
👩🍳 Step-by-Step Preparation
1️⃣ Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil 💧.
Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente 🍝.
Drain, but keep about ½ cup of the cooking water for later.
2️⃣ Cook the Sausage & Aromatics
In a large skillet, cook the smoked sausage slices 🌭 over medium heat for about 5–6 minutes, until browned and slightly crispy. Remove and set aside.
